At present, we owe approximately $700,000 on 9 acres of land located on Pecos Rd between Higley and Greenfield. The land for our building is near the future San-Tan Freeway, new housing communities, and popular businesses putting us in prime position to plant the seed.
The purpose of God's Miracle funding effort is to pay-off the current debt on the land. Then, using the land as collateral, along with additional funds received from this campaign, secure a note allowing construction on our building to begin.
The First Step
Obviously several things have to happen in a relatively short order if we are to break ground by January, 2007. Our elders have taken the first step by designating four committees - each beginning their work as soon as possible:
Capital Fund Drive Committee
A Steering Committee has been established and is working hard to secure the financial means needed. The committee has established our theme: God's Miracle: A Seed Today, A Harvest Tomorrow .
Building Design Committee
The purpose of this committee is to make specific recommendations to our elders regarding the features of our multi-purpose facility. They will gather input from all Gateway members to insure the best possible arrangement and use of funds.
Legal Clearing Committee
The purpose of this group is to insure that all legal specifications regarding the facility for the city of Gilbert have been met. Smooth sailing through the red tape of construction is their goal.
Building Funding Committee
The purpose of this committee is to secure additional funding, once our land debt is retired, to allow our building to be constructed.
Weeks of planning have gone into our Gateway Church of Christ Capital Stewardship Program. Many have given of their time and energy to prepare members to make a God-directed sacrificial gift to the program. During the weeks ahead we will make a visit to each member's home to answer your questions and ask you to pray for the program and your financial commitment to it. The Financial Commitment is a simple statement of what God has placed on your heart to give to the Capital Stewardship Program over the next three years beginning Sunday, May 22nd.
